MAIL readers had a lot to say in response to the news Furness residents may face a four-week wait for supermarket home deliveries, as food suppliers and distributors come under growing pressures as a result of the Coronavirus crisis.

Here were some of the readers' comments:

Angela Barratt: "I can't get anything from Sainsbury's as it's only supplying to people on the extremely vulnerable list. Tesco has no slots at all and it's the same with Asda. I've managed to get a shop booked with Morrisons for April 16. I'm on the higher-risk list - since I'm disabled - and can't get a delivery even though I have had to use this service for years because of my disability."

Abigail Green: "I had my delivery slot cancelled. But I'm not moaning - there are people more in need than us. I managed to get a click and collect for the beginning of April and someone who is doing taxi runs in full-protective gear. The plan was he would pick us up from home to get it. But I'm now full of cold so I'll probably have to just give him the order number to collect it for me and drop it on the doorstep."

Gemma Forster: "Morrisons doesn't deliver to the whole area. They have a weird system. They deliver to Barrow but they don't delivery to all postcodes. It's the same all over the country apparently."

Mark Walker: "People who can shop or click and collect should STOP using home delivery NOW. Leave it to the people who can not physically get to the shops or who have children."

Janet Devereux: "So annoying! As a housebound disabled person, I have used this service for years! Now I can't get a slot!"

Tony Miller: "Get to your local shops - it's better quality and you;'ll help to keep them open!"

Yaz Shannon: "It's probably all the same people who panic-bought the shops out of food. Now they're wanting home delivery so no one else can get food."

Dawn Mckellar: "They should've kept the slots for the 1.5 million and elderly who have to self isolate for 12 weeks."

Steph Harrison: "This is awful for people like me who can't get out due to health problems."

John King: "Click and collect isn't much better. My slot was 2 weeks ahead."

Linda Millard: Some people have a slot every day!"
