A MAN and woman in their 50s are among the latest people to die in Barrow after being treated for coronavirus.
The hospital trust that runs Furness General Hospital confirmed a 58-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man were among five people to have died in Barrow after testing positive for Covid-19.
Two men aged 94 and 84 and another woman aged 82 are the others who have passed away at the hospital in the past few days.
Aaron Cummins, the chief executive of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, said: "All had underlying health conditions and died in the past few days.
"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones, and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."
