An incident involving a train and a van halted the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
At about 12.45pm on Sunday a train on the La’al Ratty, coming from Dalegarth, was involved in an incident with a DPD delivery van, at the Eskdale Green level crossing.
A statement from the railway company said: “There were no injuries to passengers, staff or members of the public.
“The locomotive was not derailed and has now returned to Ravenglass with its train.”
The company also confirmed the incident has been reported to the Rail Accident Investigation Branch and Her Majesty’s Railway Inspectorate at the Office of Rail and Road.
A DPD spokesman said: “The driver checked that everyone was OK and exchanged insurance details before continuing on his round. He was interviewed by our depot team on returning and will receive retraining.”
