A MAN from Barrow pleaded guilty of two counts of theft when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.

Alan Brown stole items of toys, to the value of £150 , belonging to The Range as well as men’s clothing, to the value of £120, belonging to T-K Maxx.

The 33-year-old was represented by Michael Graham in court who said this was an “unsophisticated” offence.

The Cavendish Street resident was discharged conditionally for 12 months for each theft and was ordered to pay compensation of £120 and £150 for the two thefts. The total Brown had to pay, including costs and a victim surcharge, was £375
