A POPULAR cafe has expanded its business with the launch of a new deli venture.

The owner of The Hot Mango Cafe and Bistro launched The Hot Mango Deli in a bid to offer regular and new customers an extended range of takeaway options.

The new deli is situated at 11 King Street, Ulverston, just down the road from the cafe, which can be found at 27 King Street.

Owner Stefanie Lawson said has been at the cafe for nine years and took chef Jonathan Laing on five years ago.

“We’ve now gone into business together with the deli," she said.

“We are taking things steady and finding our feet.

“We are learning as we go.

“There has definitely been an increase in people coming in day by day.

“At the moment the delivery service isn’t available whilst we focus on getting control of the takeaways first.”

Discussing the reasons behind the new venture, Stef said: “Over the years in the cafe we’ve had many people wanting takeaways.

“We are giving people what they are asking for.”

The deli is offering items for breakfast and dinner, opening from 8am-2pm Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm on Saturday.

The menu includes bacon and sausage buns, salads, salt and pepper chips and panini’s to name a few.

Capturing the nation's love of meal deals, the deli has pre-made sandwiches available, which alongside a drink and a bag of crisps or homemade cake, costs just £5.

Stef said: “We have a salad bar set up which includes pasta, noodles and hummus which lets people pick and choose what they’d like so it seems popular.

“We are also offering a roast of the day inside of a roll.

“It is all building steadily.”
