There is still time to visit two new exhibitions in Whitehaven.
The Beacon is hosting Portrait of Cumbria, Life and Landscape, an exhibition by photographer Phil Rigby.
Phil spent 30 years capturing Cumbria’s people and landscapes for newspapers and magazines.
His 90 pictures on show at The Beacon show some of Cumbria’s best-known faces and places with an eclectic mix of literary, artistic and sporting personalities alongside some of the county’s most famous landscapes.
It runs until March.
Another of the museum’s new exhibitions, Breaking the Waves, can be visited until May.
The collection tells the story of Whitehaven’s seafaring past, from shipbuilding and export to the coastguard and services that kept the coastline at work.
The exhibition includes challenges and interactive games and a programme of events and activities.
