Residents are being invited to have their say on a major plan that will shape South Lakeland for the next ten years and beyond.

South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) has this week launched its latest review of the Local Plan, which will consider everything from what employment and housing the area needs to how its historic character and special landscapes can be protected.

Councillor Jonathan Brook, SLDC’s portfolio holder for Housing and Innovation, said: "We all know South Lakeland is a special place to live and to work.

"It is an area that regularly features among the best in the UK for its quality of life.

"But keeping it special doesn’t happen by accident. The planning system and the Local Plan have a big role to play.

Local Plan ‘drop in’ events to discuss your ideas about the future of South Lakeland will be held at Victoria Hall in Grange on Tuesday March 3 at 7.30pm, Coro Hall in Ulverston on Monday March 9 at 7.30pm.
