A NEW sculpture has been planned to mark the Barrow side of the Bay Cycle Way.
Plans have been submitted to Barrow Council for a metal structure to mark the start and finish line of the 80-mile route around Morecambe Bay.
The installaion, a large bicycle wheel with an information board, would be placed at Sandy Gap on Walney.
Another sculpture is being planned for the other side of the cycle way at Glasson Dock near Lancaster.
Ulverston-based metalwork artists CB Arts have been commissioned to build the sculptures, plans say.
The proposals are currently out for public consultation.
