A PLAY area within a popular park has been given a fresh look ready for the school holidays.

Areas within Ulverston’s Ford Park play area have taken on a new appearance after being weeded and levelled.

The work that has been undertaken has been completed by Ford Park’s volunteers, in preparation of this week's half term.

A new pathway has been placed which leads to and from the park's play area and the woodland trail.

The pathway has been a huge success and has been praised by the regular parkrunners who no longer have to suffer muddy shoes.

Ulverston’s Ford Park has also been improving the scenery.

The park’s arboretum is beginning to take shape after receiving help from its volunteers, members of the community and South Lakes District Council.

The team have been planting trees around the park and are inviting the public to come and take a look.

The park is open seven days a week.

The Coach House Cafe located in the park is open from 10am-5pm Monday to Friday, and from 9.30am-5pm on Saturday.
