A SCHOOL has celebrated being praised by Ofsted inspectors.
George Romney Junior School was given a ‘good’ rating following an inspection before Christmas.
The report said: “Pupils are well behaved, polite and considerate.
“They meet the high expectations that their teachers have of them. Pupils work hard to live out the school’s core values.”
Inspectors spent the day talking to staff and children to look at the quality of education and safeguarding.
Headteacher David Reddy was delighted the school continued to be marked as good.
He said: “Obviously I am very happy and proud about the outcome for our school as I think it reflects the care, commitment and effort made by all staff here to provide the children with an exciting and challenging education.
“From the very start of the day, parents were supportive and positive about the school, the children and the staff.
“The inspectors were very pleased to hear how happy parents were about the school and especially about the way we celebrate different talents and achievements here.
“One hundred per cent of the parents who completed the online survey said they would recommend this school to another parent which is excellent.”
The report also said: “Leaders have developed a rich and ambitious curriculum…pupils use the vocabulary they have learned to produce high-quality pieces of writing.
“Many pupils love to read…pupils enjoy using their mathematical knowledge in everyday life.”
It added: “Teachers motivate many pupils to read widely, including classic stories and Shakespeare’s plays.
“Pupils use the vocabulary that they have learned to produce pieces of high-quality writing.”
Mr Reddy added: “This is a very positive outcome for our school
I would like to sincerely thank all the children, parents and carers and of course staff who work together day in, day out to make our school the best it can be for everyone’s benefit.
“I am extremely proud of everyone and their contributions.”
