THE head of a masonic group welcomed a high ranking mason from West Lancashire to his last meeting in charge to commemorate the occasion.

At his final meeting as the head of Dalton in Furness Freemasons lodge David Wilson welcomed Tony Harrison who is the head of the masonic area of West Lancashire.

Tony was accompanied by many of his officers in attending the event.

With 124 in attendance the lodge had to move the meeting from its base in Dalton to Barrow Masonic Hall. To mark the occasion Tony was presented with a cheque for £700 for charity.

The Furness and South Lakeland Group of Lodges and Chapters is one of 22 groups within the Province of West Lancashire which is the largest Masonic Province.

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. It attracts people from many different walks of life.
