Coniston firefighters
CONISTON has welcomed two new firefighters to its on-call crew including their first female firefighter.
Mike Tomes and Suzanne Walker, who both work for local schools, have completed their basic training and are now operational firefighters.
The crew said Miss Walker is their first female operational firefighter.
The crew is hosting a recruitment evening on Wednesday January 29 at the fire station from 7pm until 9pm.
The drop-in session is aimed at anyone interested in becoming an on-call firefighter.
