A MYSTERY Samaritan has returned a wallet with more than £100 cash inside completely intact.

The wallet not only had a high cash value inside but a sentimental message for Poppy Howarth’s partner Robert from his two young daughters. The message reads “Daddy, we love you forever our hero. Holly and Ruby”

Poppy, 27, is reaching out to find the man who handed in the wallet as she is wanting to thank him for the kind gesture.

The wallet was a gift to 34-year-old Robert from Holly, aged two, and Ruby, who is just eight months old.

After it was thought the wallet was lost, a phone call from Halifax bank came in to say it had been handed in.

Poppy Howarth, from Dalton, said: “I’ve tried to find out from every source possible who it was and all I know is that it was an older gentleman.

“In this day I had pretty much thought straight away that we would not get the wallet back.

“Then the bank rang us saying they had a card handed in. No mention of a wallet so when we went to pick it up they handed us the card, the wallet, and all the money.

“I know it should be standard procedure to do the right thing like this but these days it just isn’t. So I really wanted to find him and gift him a little hamper and a thank you card as not only did it have a lot of money in it but it was an engraved first Christmas present off his two daughters.

“The compassion this gentleman showed that day displays the kindness and respect I hope my children grow up to have.”
