FIREFIGHTERS and the RSPCA are on their way to try and rescue a fox which has fallen into a water treatment works in Barrow.
The animal is understood to have been trapped in the works overnight but is still conscious.
Fire crews have been asked to attend by the RSPCA and are hoping to be able to rescue the fox safely and without hurting the animal.
A humane trap had been left out for the fox, with some meat inside, but it has failed to take the bait.
