It was a warmer week at parkrun following the storms that created boggy and challenging conditions the week prior.

Barrow parkrun saw lots of success with 31 personal bests recorded.

Taking first place for the men was Andrew Dorian in 16.54, in second place was Cameron Bell in 19.04 and in third place was Joe Turner in 19.14.

Taking first place for the women was Georgia Bell in 20.43, in second place was Karen Maggio-Poyntz in 22.22 and in third place was Heather Travis in 23.05.

Millom parkrun saw the return of sunshine, leaving the course bathed in a warm sunlight.

The first to cross the finish line for the men was Ian Douglas in 26.00, in second place was Phil Chapman in 27.58, and in third place was Dan Davies in 28.40.

The first to cross the finish line for the women was Helen Cooper in 39.18, in second place was Karen Lomas in 51.01 and in third place was Olivia Moore in 54.38.

Fell Foot parkrun saw a grand turnout of 171 runners ready to take on the 5k course.

The first of the men to finish was Jack Wright in 17.35, in second place was Jamie Ford in 17.35 and in third place was Rory Addison in a new personal best of 18.20.

The first of the women to finish was Michelle Crowley in 21.59, in second place was Lauren Booth in 22.31 and in third place was Rebekah Beadle in 23.18.

Ulverston’s Ford parkrun saw an impressive 26 new personal bests recorded.

Taking first place for the men was William Fish in a new personal best of 20.04, in second place was Ronnie Haddow in 20.31, and in third place was Daniel Aaron in a new personal best of 20.32.

Taking first place for the women was Cass Chisholm in 21.15, in second place was Liz White in a new personal best of 22.38 and in third place was Sandra Garnett in 22.44.

All of the parkrun organisers thanked the weekly volunteers who make the Saturday morning events possible.

People of all fitness levels and ages are invited to walk, jog and run across the free 5k course.

Children in prams and four-legged friends on leads are also invited to join in with the parkrun fun.
