THE latest recipients of The Mail's Bouquet of the Week are two people who have been an instrumental part of a group to support carers.

Jo White and Craig Backhouse from Furness Carers were praised as they received the flowers for all their hard work.

Line manager Jo and Craig Backhouse, the chief executive of Furness Carers, were nominated for the bouquet by Sylvia Garnett.

Sylvia, a carers support services advisor for the group, said the pair made a significant difference to people's lives.

She said: "I would like to nominate our line Manager Jo White and our CEO Craig Backhouse for bouquet of the week.

"The support they give to our team is endless and they are always there for us when needed through the ups and downs both on work matters and personal.

"Most importantly they have our carers at the forefront of everything they do and the difference they make to peoples lives is immeasurable.

"Both make coming to work an absolute pleasure and they work endlessly to make sure both their staff and carers are looked after."

Sylvia said Craig and Jo had kept up their hard work through a testing time for Furness Carers.

She added: "They do all this without asking for any reward.

"We have had many changes to deal with in the last 12 months and their support to get everyone through testing times has never wavered and they have asked for nothing in return.

"Getting the bouquet would make their week and they would be genuinely touched and surprised by this.

"This is our way of showing Jo and Craig how much we appreciate their time support and commitment to Furness Carers."

There was not a dry eye in a the house when the pair were presented with the flowers as members of the charity gathered to honour them.

Furness Carers was said to have been established to support carers who are looking after a partner, relative or friend who through illness or disability cannot manage at home without help.
