LABOUR branch members are due to discuss who they want to pick as the party's next leader.

The Millom branch of the Copeland Constituency Labour Party will come together to discuss their picks for the leadership at their Annual General Meeting at the beginning of next month.

MPs Keir Starmer, Rebecca Long Bailey, Lisa Nandy and Jess Phillips and Emily Thornberry are set to contend the leadership.

Sir Keir, the Brexit secretary, is said to be the favourite to take over from outgoing leader Jeremy Corbyn who is due to step aside.

Members of the Millom group are also set to discuss branch positions including chair, minutes secretary, membership secretary, treasurer and press officer.

The meeting is due to take place the Bridge Cafe in Millom on February 3.

It will start at 6pm.
