ARCHWAY Vets new bespoke centre - designed by the same architects as TV’s Supervet - has won the runner-up award at the prestigious National British Veterinary Hospital Association Design (BVHA) Awards 2019.

The Archway team based in Grange worked with Alex and Nicola Darvill from ACD Projects to thoughtfully and expertly design the new practice centre, with the focus on making visits as stress free as possible for animals and their owners, creating the best space to provide exceptional care in leading facilities. Jeremy and Mandy Voakes, and Alex and Nicola Darvill attended the award ceremony in London in December, where they received the award from Martin Smith the BVHA President.

Jeremy Voakes, owner, said: “At the ceremony, the judges presented a slide show to illustrate how well the practice flowed during their visit. From the light airy waiting room, through the modern consult rooms, laboratory, hospitalisation areas, and state-of-the-art operating theatres, and ultimately on into the rehabilitation unit with physio, hydrotherapy, and waterfalls! In particular they noted the dedicated cat waiting room, consult room, and hospitalisation ward, enabling Gold standard cat care.

They were also very pleased that we continued to provide our own out of hours emergency care, especially the nurse accommodation which enables us to have a nurse on site with any hospitalised pets throughout the night.

We are proud to be recognised nationally for the award. And are overwhelmed with feed back from our customers. In case you are wondering, the winner was a huge corporate practice that I am told cost £6 million! So as a relatively small independent practice we are delighted to have done Cumbria proud!”
