BARROW AFC have made themselves the pride of the town this season and they now have an opportunity to show the rest of the country what they are capable of.

The Bluebirds, who are three points clear at the top of the National League, welcome fellow promotion challengers Bromley to their Holker Street ground this evening and the BT Sport cameras will be there to capture it.

It will be prime time viewing for the station’s subscribers as well, with the match kicking off at 5:20pm.

It’s a special occasion for the club, but striker Dior Angus, scorer of ten goals this season, will be focusing on earning three more points, rather than the cameras.

He said: “It doesn’t really change the occasion for the players, it’s still a game that we just want to win.

“It’s nice to be shown on the TV, of course, but at the end of the day it’s another league game we want three points from.

“It would be nice to win the way we’ve been winning, though, and for everyone to see the football that we’ve been playing.”

Barrow go into the game in fantastic form, having thrashed both Ebbsfleet United and FC United 7-0 in the previous two weekends.

It’s for that reason that the club are hoping to top the crowd of 3,267 that attended their Boxing Day fixture against AFC Fylde.

Barrow councillor Bill McEwan said: "It is absolutely fantastic. It is great for the town as it has been a long time since they have had something to shout about in sport.

"I hope it being on television doesn't stop people going to the games though because we need bums on seats."
