PARKRUN has seen yet another fantastic weekend of running.

With the storm waiting in the wings at Millom parkrun, a special well-done has been given to Michael Wills and Angela Barbour on their first ever parkrun.

The first of the men to cross the finish line was John Rodgers in 25.17, in second place was Daniel King in 25.34 and in third place was Sam Moore in 29.25.

The first of the women to cross the finish line was Rachel Read in 33.22, in second place was Pranee Sowerby in 37.07 and in third place was Wendy Craik in 41.26.

This week at Barrow parkrun, 189 people ran, jogged and walked Barrow’s course, with 24 of them being first timers and 14 reaching new personal bests.

Taking first place for the men was an unknown runner, in second place was Luca Messenger Jones with a new personal best of 16.55 and in third place was Joe Turner with a new personal best of 18.40.

Taking first place for the ladies was Georgia Bell in 19.42, in second place was Sarah Jones with a new personal best of 20.28 and in third place was Karen Oldham in 23.04.

Despite the blustery weather, Fell Foot parkrun saw a great turnout of 185 runners.

First to cross the finish line for the men was Rory Addison in 18.45, in second place was Matt Sims in 19.04 and third place was Tom Gibbs in 19.11.

First to cross the finish line for the women was Lauren Booth in 23.24, in second place was Rebekah Beadle in 23.37 and in third place was Lottie Harmer in 24.53.

Ulverston's Ford parkrun didn't let the weather hinder their performances, with five runners achieving new personal bests.

Taking the first place spot for the men was Ronnie Haddow in 20.47, in second place was Daniel Aaron in 20.59 and in third place was Leven Sopwith in 21.40.

Taking the first place spot for the women was Lisa Muldoon in 24.20, in second place was Susan Ross in 24.27 and in third place was Jackie Chapman in 25.11.

All of the parkrun organisers thanked the weekly volunteers who make the Saturday morning events possible.

People of all fitness levels and ages are invited to walk, jog and run across the free 5k course.
