AN ANNUAL challenge across Cumbria is set to open for registration next week.

On January 18 committee members will be making an early journey up to the new proposed start to the Keswick to Barrow annual race at Legburthwaite.

Committee member Ian Walmsley said: “So, 2019 has now passed and we move into 2020. The K2B is this year now.

“I hope everyone had the Christmas they were hoping for and maybe got some new trainers off Santa. The committee are going to fully review the site to ensure its fit for purpose and start planning for the logistics of the day, especially traffic management."

The new start means walkers will cross the A591 very soon into the walk.

Safety there will be paramount. An update will be issued by the committee next week and registration will follow on January 20.

Ian Walmsley, K2B registration manager, and Neil Fleming, C2B registration manager, will be ready and waiting on their computers to sign up all of this year's applicants.
