It was a brilliant start to the year for Barrow parkrun with 150 runners turning up to a special New Years Day run.

In first place for the males was Karl Welborn in 17.31, in second place was Paul Smith with a new personal best of 18.18 and in third place was Michael Thompsett in 18.19.

In first place for the females was Sandra Garnett with a new personal best of 22.06, in second place was Catherine Eaton with a new personal best of 22.24 and in third place was Karen Ann Maggio-Poyntz in 23.11.

For the first Saturday event of the year, Barrow saw 203 people ready to tackle the course.

In first place for the men was Grant Johnson in 16.46, in second place with a new personal best was Nathan Harris in 19.07 and in third place was Cameron Bell in 19.15.

In first place for the ladies was Amy Singleton in 21.58, in second place was Sandra Garnett in 22.15 and in third place was Karen Oldham in 23.07.

Millom parkrun found the ground conditions to be sticky despite being drier than the previous week.

The first man to cross the finish line was John Rodgers in 24.01, in second place was Sam Moore in 25.07 and in third place was Andrew Holland in 27.58.

The first woman to cross the finish line was Pranee Sowerby in 34.55, in second place was Chloe Falconer in 36.35 and in third place was Helen Cooper in 38.30.

Fell Foot parkrun saw 264 runners turn up to their New Years Day event.

In first place for the men was Samuel McSherry in 17.56, in second place was Hugh Mackie in 18.39 and in third place was Aaron Cherry in 18.57.

In first place for the women was Juliet Downs in 19.07, in second place was Heather Heppenstall in 22.12, and in third place was Alice Fellbaum in 22.47.

For the first Saturday event of the year, 29 runners achieved new personal bests.

In first place for the males was Tom Gibbs in 19.07, in second place was Thomas Lynn in 19.15 and in third place was Henry Hunter in 20.29.

In first place for the ladies was Karen Parker in 21.10, in second place was Michelle Crowley in 21.55 and in third place Megan Lowery in 22.15.

New Years Day saw 124 runners line up at Ulverston's Ford parkrun.

In first place for the men was Andrew Dorrian in 17.31, in second place was Karl Welborn in 18.09 and in third place was Lewis Watts in 19.52.

In first place for the women was Jessica Bailey in 20.09, in second place was Kelly Clark in a new personal best of 20.19 and in third place was Katherine Barker in 23.04.

Ford parkrun saw 106 runners on the first Saturday event of the year.

Finishing first for the men was Andrew Dorrian in a new personal best of 17.17, in second place was Lewis Watts in 19.44 and in third place was Ronnie Haddow in 20.58.

Finishing first for the ladies was Heather Travis in 23.20, in second place was Liz White in 23.37 and in third place was Holly Heffernan in a new personal best of 24.14.
