Dear Editor

Grange-Over-Sands’ long-awaited super swimming pool, with a gym and a cafe and an elevated view over Morecambe Bay, closed.

Now they [Save Grange Lido] want to spend millions of pounds on a bombsite which should have been levelled years ago. It has no view of the bay at sea level, and a perimeter wall.

An Olympic-size pool, they say - that is 50 metres x 25 metres x two metres deep. I can’t see it fitting in.

Stop wasting money and move into the 21st century.

Who wants to swim in an open-air pool with our climate when you could swim in an enclosed pool?

Come on, it makes sense.
