CAROLS and music were in perfect harmony this weekend at the Coronation Hall.

Ulverston Town Council and other guests flocked in to enjoy a matinee performance of Carols at the Coro on Saturday, December 14.

Performing this year were Croftlands School Choir, Ulverston Town Band, and the Ulverston Training Brass Band.

The retiring collection will go to the Ulverston Mayor’s Charities which included many great charities and community groups in the town.

The money collected will be combined with all the money raised throughout the year and will be distributed to different local charities as an end of year present.

Ulverston mayor Sharon Webster said: "It was packed out, and it was a fantastic event.

"The school choir was absolutely brilliant, and not one of them seemed frightened to be up on stage.

"It was a free event, so it was nice to do something for the community.

"I would like to say thank you to all those who gave up their time to help with the event."

Mrs Webster was joined by her deputy mayor Amanda Rigg, deputy mayor of Kendal Doug Rathbone, and Dalton mayor Nick Perie.

David Webster, Ulverston councillor, said: "It went exceptionally well, the school choir was a tear jerker as they really put their hearts into it.

"Residents from Abbeyfield and Elmhurst care homes came to watch as well and they really enjoyed it."
