A MAN has been arrested after an alleged firearms incident in Bootle.
Police were called to an area of Bootle at 11.20pm on Friday after a firearm was allegedly discharged.
Police put out an appeal at around 3am on Saturday to locate a 48-year-old man from the Bootle area.
At 5.20pm on Saturday police confirmed that a 48-year-old man had been arrested this afternoon in the south Lakes area and remains now in custody.
No one was injured during the incident.
Superintendent Justin Bibby said: “No one was injured during the incident and a search operation is ongoing.
"Cumbria Constabulary would like to thank those who shared the appeals."
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 999, quoting incident number 270 of 13 December.
