CELEBRATIONS were in order for Walney School as pupils took part in the first ever Christmas Festival, attracting hundreds of people to the event.
Walney School’s first ever Christmas Fest took place on Thursday, with students, ex-students, parents, family members and community members gathering at the event.
The festival saw around forty craft stalls from local businesses and charities in attendance, all selling Christmas goods from scarves and hats to candle holders and baubles.
As well as this, there was live music in the hall, courtesy of the Performing Arts department and a range of Christmas food and drink from the school kitchen.
The new Walney Ways subjects were responsible for organising the event, alongside Miss Preston in the library and Mrs Kavanagh in the kitchen.
Performing Arts students wowed audiences with their talent and professionalism on stage, showcasing a selection of carols, Christmas favourites and a sneak preview of ‘Legally Blonde Junior’.
Vicky Niblo, assistant headteacher, said: "The event was a huge success and a great opportunity for our Walney Ways students to showcase their hard work from this term."
