This week’s winner of Bouquet of the Week has been nominated for her loving and kind demeanour.

Shirley Waters has been nominated for her running of the Springmount Toddlers group.

The nominator said: “This toddler group, which runs every Wednesday, has been a warm and welcoming group for mums, dads, grandparents and carers for many years.

“Relaxed and enjoyable, it has such a good vibe that attending every Wednesday has become a tradition for many of us with babies.

“It’s not just a playgroup for toddlers, but a mutual meeting ground for us mums to have a natter and a catch up.

“Shirley Waters is at the hub of the operation and runs the group voluntarily.

“She is known for her loving and kind demeanour, Springmount Toddlers would be nothing without her.

“It’s difficult to articulate how much she cares about the group, but as she was telling me last week, when it’s not on she misses it - as she misses the mums and the babies.

“She absolutely goes above and beyond to make sure we are cared for - activities, toys, parties... you name it, she does it!

“She also helps to run Bumps and Beyond - a support group to help low income families expecting babies.

“She sources and provides all the essentials for them.

“And not to forget, she runs an annual Christmas shoe box appeal and is off to Romania this December to deliver the packages, she is always busy helping others.

“She is remarkable and a few of us would like her to know how much she is appreciated by the wider community.

Shirley Waters said: "I love seeing all the children and watching them come from babies and going to nursery.

"I also love the relationship that I have with the adults.

"I also have a great team who enable me to go and talk to people - and I like talking!"
