A BARROW man who pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle without a licence and other offences was disqualified from driving for six months.
The court heard how 29-year-old Evaldas Dackys, of Near Field Walk, had taken conveyance of a Seat Ibiza on November 3 without the owners consent.
Diane Jackson, senior crown prosecutor, told the court Mr Dackys said the spare set of keys had been left by the car’s owner at his (the defendant's) property.
Ms Jackson said Mr Dackys decided to take the car to meet friends at the cinema, using the vehicle on Park Road, Barrow.
He was stopped en route by PC Howard and found to only possess a provisional licence.
Mr Dackys pleaded guilty to taking the vehicle without consent, and to driving without third party insurance and without a licence. He was disqualified from driving (including as a learner) for six months and ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.
