VOLUNTEERS rescuers saved a seal which had become sick in Morecambe Bay.
Specially-trained marine mammal medics from Bay Search and Rescue were called to Walney after the creature fell ill and could not move.
The seal was caught and transported to Kendal College.
A spokesman for BSAR said: "Don’t try and handle these cute little creatures, even the weakest of them can turn and bite extremely quickly and the bacteria on their teeth is extremely harmful to humans."
