A woman was handed a four week curfew after admitting three separate thefts from supermarkets. Stacey Smith, 32, of Shore Side, Siddick, Workington, pleaded guilty before Workington magistrates.

The court heard Smith stole a basket full of goods, valued at £17.98 from Asda, in Workington, on May 9.

She then went on to steal a trolley full of goods, worth £208.73, also from Workington's Asda store, on May 12, which was recovered.

And on May 19 she stole another full trolley of goods, worth £50 from Iceland in Whitehaven.

Smith was ordered to pay compensation of £67.98 in total.
