Parkrunners rose to a frosty start, but that did not stop the pace of those who joined in.

Millom parkrun saw a gloriously bright day with crunchy conditions underfoot.

The first to cross the finish line for the men was Gary Woodhouse in 25.29, in second place was Rowan Harrison-Walker in 32.15 and taking third place spot was David Herdman in 33.58.

Taking first place for the ladies was Lisa Glover in 32.17, following behind in second place was Helen Edwards in 40.53 and following in third place was Wendy Craik in 52.13.

Barrow parkrun saw a cold and frosty morning, but after a ground inspection, all was good to go.

Among the runners were nine first timers, and five people recorded new personal bests.

Taking first place for the men was Luca Messenger in 17.56, in second place was Cameron Bell in 19.27, and very close behind in third place was Danny Bouffler in 19.28.

Leading the way for the women was Sophie Leadbetter in 24.37, in second place was Brooke Durkin in 26.21, and following just one second behind was Janice Callister in 26.22.

Fell Foot parkrun saw a great turnout, with 152 runners ready to take on the course.

21 personal bests were recorded.

In first place for the men was Matt Mason in 18.51, in second place was Jacob Dyer in 19.25 and in third place was Gareth Read in 19.35.

In first place for the ladies was Maggie Salter with a new personal best of 23.16, in second place was Lottie Harmer in a new personal best of 24.37 and in third place was Sarah Atkins in 24.44.

At Ulverston’s Ford parkrun 14 personal bests were recorded and 53 runners took part.

The first to cross the finish line for the boys was Leven Sopwith in a new personal best of 20.36, in second place was Glenn Boulter in a new personal best of 20.47 and in third place was Daniel Aaron in a new personal best of 20.57.

The first of the females to cross the finish line was Heather Travis in 24.02, in second place was Jess Ensoll in 24.53 and in third place was Joanna Bailey in 25.37.

All Parkrun organisers thanked the weekly volunteers who make the Saturday morning events possible.
