AN Ulverston couple fell in ‘love at first sight’ after swiping right into each other’s hearts.

Claire While, 40, of JP Atkinson, and Victor Harpham, 43, of Ulverston Meat Company, first met after matching on the popular dating app, Tinder, in March last year.

After talking for a few months, the pair decided to meet face-to-face at the Rose & Crown pub in Ulverston.

The now Mrs Harpham said the couple ‘felt like they had known each other for ages’ within the first ten minutes of meeting.

“We just chatted non stop and got to know each other,” she said.

“His personality was something which really attracted me towards him - he is bubbly, outgoing and very cheeky.”

Mr Harpham said it was his wife’s ‘calming influence’ which ‘took his breath away’.

He said: “I was meeting a lot of weird people on Tinder and couldn’t believe my luck when I found Claire.

“I couldn’t believe she hadn’t been snatched up before.

“I lost both my parents in a short space of time a few years ago and it was nice to be welcomed in to a loving family as Claire's mam treats me like a son and its like having a mam again.

“She looks after me so well. It was a perfect match for both of us.”

The couple were on a weekend away in Blackpool last summer when Mr Harpham popped the question.

“It was very early morning, the sun was coming up and we just mutually decided to get engaged,” Mrs Harpham said.

The happy couple officially said ‘I do’ at The Olde Mill in Bardsea where they were joined by 25 of their close friends and family in the day, with a further 100 people joining them for the evening celebration.

The newlyweds said they wanted a more ‘intimate ceremony’ to exchange their vows.

“We actually had the idea of just going off and getting married on our own,” Mrs Harpham said.

“But my mum would have never forgiven us if we had.”

The pair described the day as ‘amazing’.

They said: “The whole day was absolutely perfect.

“The setting and decoration was everything we had dreamed of and more.

“We both can’t remember much from the day, it was all a blur.

“We just focussed on each other and tried to make it about as each other.”

For their honeymoon, the couple enjoyed a luxury five-star trip to Lanzarote.

Mrs Harpham said: “We were treated like kings and queens for a week.

“We had champagne on arrival and our room upgraded, it was amazing.

“And fantastic weather too.”
