EXTRA parking restrictions look set to be imposed on sections of several streets in Millom and Haverigg as part of traffic proposals from Cumbria County Council.

Yellow lines to prevent 'waiting at any time' are expected to be painted on the junction of Mainsgate Road and Devonshire Road - close to a veterinary surgery and the Pensioners' Hall.

Parts of Lapstone Road, Newton Street and Cambridge Street also appear on the list.

Changes are also in store for part of Millom Market Square - where disc parking spaces for an hour between 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday will be replaced with parking for disabled badge holders only.

Parts of Caton Street, Atkinson Street and Main Street at Haverigg are also proposed for the introduction of 'no waiting at any time' restrictions.

Public notices have gone up outlining the changes and any representations about them need to be made by December 4 in writing or by email to kim.baxter@cumbria.gov.uk.

Full details, showing the lengths of road concerned, can be seen at the Copeland Borough Council offices in St George's Road, Millom.
