A SURVEY is to be carried out to get people’s views on the Love Barrow Running Festival.
Last month’s event was staged to promote positive mental health as a ‘legacy event’ of the Tour of Britain visit to Barrow in September 2018.
Another festival is planned in 2020 after this year’s event followed work by Cumbria County council, Barrow Borough Council, local businesses, running clubs and charities, all coming together with partners Life Leisure.
Emma Broadbent, area development manager for the county council, said organisers now plan to find out what worked and if anything did not.
She said: “It was very busy, very positive and very good. The public was fantastic and came out in their hundreds and what was really good is there has been no negativity on the day or afterwards. Everyone came together.”
At a meeting of Barrow Local Committee, councillor Anne Burns praised Mrs Broadbent and the team and Cllr Kevin Hamilton called the day a ‘sterling job’.
