MAGISTRATES have extended the period of a man's suspended sentence for committing a public order offence.
Steven Clark, of Hall Farm in Sunderland, pleaded guilty to the offence, and breaching a suspended sentence, when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old, represented by Gerald Armstrong, admitted committing a public order offence by using threatening, abusive or insulting words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Barrow on October 12.
The court heard Clark was subject to a sentence of eight weeks suspended for 12 months imposed by South Northumbria Magistrates' Court for breaching a restraining order on May 22 and May 26.
Clark was fined £45, ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs and his suspended sentence was extended to 15 months.
