MORE than 40 hard-working volunteers from an Ellesmere-based charity got together recently to attend an informative event.

Members of The Lyneal Trust got together for the trust’s ‘End of Season Review’ on Saturday, November 9 at Welshampton Parish Hall.

Chris Symes, chairman, opened the review and other committee members added to the session.

Peter Walters, trustee, said that the event included updates from what had been happening at the trust over the past year and what would be happening in the coming year.

“We talked about plans for what we do now during the closed season,” said Peter.

“We discussed renovating the holiday cottages and painting the boats and just a general chat about what we have coming up next year.

“It was also a thank you to our volunteers for their help throughout this past year.”

Meanwhile, the trust’s annual Santa Cruises will be taking place next month in the lead up to Christmas.

There are few places left, with only the 11.30am sailing on Saturday, December 21 and the 3pm sailing on Sunday, December 22 having spaces.
