MEMBERS of a running group came to the rescue to ensure schoolchildren could go to the cinema.
To celebrate World Kindness Day, where individuals and clubs were asked to perform an Act of Kindness, the Walney Wind Cheetahs running group helped out at a school.
Pupils at South Walney Infants School had been given 50 free tickets to watch the film Angry Birds 2.
Unfortunately the children would not be able to attend as they had to walk to the cinema and the school could not reach the required Adult to child ratio of supervision.
So the WWC Walking for Health group saw an opportunity to perform our Act of Kindness and rearranged their walk to start at the school and escort the children to the cinema.
The group returned to escort the pupils back to school.
