A LIFESTYLE store landing its first new home in Southampton will boost employment in the city - just in time for the festive season.

Independent British brand Oliver Bonas is expected to create 14 new jobs, after joining Westquay this month for its second site on the south coast.

It comes after several brands joined the Southampton shopping centre this year, including London’s fragrance expert Molton Brown, lifestyle brand The White Company, escape room concept Locked in a Room, Chopstix Noodle Bar and the LEGO store.

The new store will fill 1,800 square ft of space with an eclectic mix of fashion, jewellery accessories, homeware and furniture.

Since opening its first shop in 1993, the lifestyle store has grown its estate to over 70 stores across the UK, with new designs landing in its store and online every week.

They claim that their team of designers remain inspired by the alchemy of great design, fresh thinking and the belief that design has the power to positively affect how we feel.

To mark the opening, the store is hosting a promotion for customers to receive an exclusive Oliver Bonas tote bag created by designers in their OB studio, on Saturday December 7.

Andy Collyer, general manager at Westquay said: “We are extremely proud at Westquay to be continuously growing our offering and are really looking forward to welcoming independent British lifestyle store Oliver Bonas.

"Their arrival reinforces our position as the most attractive retail and leisure destination on the south coast, both for consumers and for brands.”

Oliver Tress, founder and managing director of Oliver Bonas, said: “We are so excited to open our first store in Southampton.

"We have a carefully curated collection of our homeware, gifts and fashion, all designed in-house in our OB Studio, and have a fabulous team in store."

Oliver Bonas will open at Westquay on Wednesday November 27.
