AN Asda customer from Barrow has complained to bosses after store staff refused to accept his winning lottery ticket.
Mark Chambers posted a Tweet to Asda over the weekend in which he said: "Hi, I bought a lottery ticket from your self service tills.
"It printed out a bit faded so I asked the staff member if this was okay and she assured me it was. It’s a winning ticket.
"I went to a couple of other retailers who haven’t been able to validate it."
Asda replied and said: "Good morning Mark, thanks for getting in touch. Firstly, congrats on the winning ticket!
"I'm sorry to hear that you're having some trouble collecting your winnings, and that you're unhappy with the colleague service provided in this store.
"Please could you advise which store you purchased this from, and I can pass along your feedback to the manager for further investigation?"
Mark then responded: "It was the Barrow-in-Furness store.
"It was the attitude of ‘it’s not our problem’ which was pretty shocking when the ticket was from Asda and not exactly my fault it didn’t print properly, even more annoying when at the time the lady on the self service machine said it’s fine."
