OUR nights are about to get darker and we’re more divided than ever.

We have the People’s Vote, climate change, Extinction Rebellion, self-serving politicians, a powerless Prime Minister and a one-man wrecking ball called Oliver Letwin.

The People’s Vote march was feasted by the BBC with aerial footage fit for the Queen. They called themselves the ‘Voiceless and Ignored’! An oxymoron if ever there was one.

Whatever they want, it’s demanded now. Marching with a crowd is so much more fun than five seconds in a polling booth. Coming second in the biggest ever public vote in British history is irrelevant. Beware democracy, it’s footfall and banners that matter.

Rail-rage followed disruption in London's Tube stations - the so-called climate emergency has no tenure with safety, goodwill or common sense.

Come with me, I’ll show you the voiceless and ignored. Children and mothers huddled in the back of trucks fleeing for their lives in Syria and Iraq.

Before it gets darker, something has to pierce the night.

A General Election and the hand of God perhaps.
