A BARROW man who kicked his dog has been allowed to keep the animal.
David Paul Sandham, of James Street, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a Staffie called Clay on February 23.
Magistrates ruled an order to seize Clay and ban Sandham from keeping pets was disproportionate as the attack was 'a single kick as the dog had latched onto a car tyre'.
Sandham, 21, was given a four-week curfew between 7pm and 5am, fined £80 and told to pay an £85 surcharge and £300 costs.
