FRIGHT night is coming to Barrow.

As on Friday November 1 Bay Hospitals Charity will hold a disco at Barrow Cricket Club to raise money for Rheumatology and Respiratory at Furness General Hospital.

Sue Thomson, Clinical Lead for Ward 7, said “The aim of our charity night is to raise awareness and funds for our patients with lifelong chronic respiratory and rheumatology problems. These conditions cause the patient, relatives and carers much distress, and are life changing for all involved.

"When these patients come into hospital we strive to make it a positive experience, as these patients tend to be frequent attenders. It is paramount these patients are kept as stress free and relaxed as possible.

“With this in mind we would like to raise some money to purchase some recliner chairs, as a large number of our patients find it difficult to sleep in a bed due to their poor breathing. This night will also enable our hard working staff to have a get together and hopefully raise money in a social environment.
