A WOMAN has died after a major fire at a farm this morning.
Police were called at 8.55am to a property in Broughton-In-Furness.
A man, 72, was taken to hospital following the fire. He is in a stable condition.
Police confirmed one person, a 69-year-old woman, has died. Officers are working to confirm their identity.
A family member at the scene said: "They've got my dad out but not my mum."
Joint inquiries are underway involving police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
Detective Inspector Matt Scott said: “We are treating the fire as unexplained at this stage.
“We are working closely with Cumbria Fire and Rescue investigators to establish the cause of the fire.”
The A595 has reopened after it was closed for most of the day.
