WE are looking back into a moment in our history when Tony Blair was the first time a British Prime Minister to visit Blackburn since Harold Wilson travelled to the town in 1975.

The Lancashire Telegraph have found a photograph from January 1999 when the PM went to Our Lady and St John School from when he spoke to pupils, staff and visitors in an assembly.

So we dug deep into our archives about the day and Mr Blair was accompanied on his visit by Education Secretary David Blunkett and Home Secretary Jack Straw, as Blackburn MP, and it was a very special day.

It was undoubtedly a highlight for pupils back then so we have found even more great school photos to stir up memories for our readers.

They include getting ready for the school production with Jonathan Strivens being helped into his Tinman suit by Tom Lord and Karl Bainbridge in 1992.

Fundraising was also part of school life and hundreds of pupils watch on as Kathryn Haczycki and John Ainsworth presenting a cheque to orthopaedic surgeon Robert Paton in 1992.

Among the other pictures feature pupils making a wildlife garden, a steps towards healthy eating evening and kids putting together memories for a time capsule.
