The Mail readers react to a report by the outgoing Chief Medical Officer for England, Professor Dame Sally Davies, stating that eating on public transport should be banned and the sugar tax extended so that the government will not fail its target to halve childhood obesity.
John Grainger said: "When you see kids going to school via the sweet shop, pies and chips at lunch and more sweets and chocs on way home after school this may be at the heart of obesity more likely."
Leisa Denmark said: "Make fresh fruit and veg cheaper than chocolate and crisps might be a start, went to Morrison’s today but it could have been any supermarket, fruit 2 packs for £3 a pack of 4 chocolate bars £1 education around food and exercise is the answer and fair prices for fresh food not banning people eating on buses twonks."
Jill Park said: "And who’s going to Police this? Ridiculous idea, people need to take responsibility for what they put in their mouths!"
Rachel Kirkby said: "I think it's a total joke... I have a 1yr old, she has a digestive biscuit at snack time every day... Please let these people come and explain to her why she isn't allowed her snack... Because too many people feed their kids nothing but crap and then sit them in front of a TV or games console all day."

Claire Diffey said: "What a waste of time. It's about educating people. People know why they are over weight cause they eat too much of the wrong foods. Parents are responsible for their children being overweight."
