POLICE have released a man under investigation after he was arrested on suspicion of stalking and dangerous driving.
A 39-year-old man from Hebburn was arrested in Carlisle on Thursday after emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on Durranhill Road, in the Botcherby area of the city.
At about 8pm, fire crews from Carlisle East and West along with Cumbria Police attended the crash where, on arrival, they found one car on fire.
The vehicles involved were a BMW 31D and a Vauxhall Insignia.
Speaking after the crash, a spokeswoman for Cumbria Police said: “The driver of a BMW, a 34-year-old woman from Carlisle, was uninjured.
“The driver of the Vauxhall, a 39-year-old man from Hebburn, was taken to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary with non-life threatening injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of stalking and dangerous driving.”
