A BARROW man is due to appear in court accused of having a large hunting knife in a public place.

Connor Landsburgh, of Lord Street in Barrow, is due to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old has been charged with two offences.

Landsburgh is alleged to have been found in possession of a large hunting knife with a brown handle in the street in Dalton outside a house without good reason or lawful authority.

He is also alleged to have committed a public order offence in Dalton on the same date by using threatening, abusive or insulting words towards Shannon Heath with the intent that she would fear violence would be used towards her or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence whereby that person would fear that violence would be used towards her.

Both offences are alleged to have happened during the same incident on Tuesday June 4.
