The erratic weather found this weekend's parkrunners facing sunshine and muddy puddles.

Barrow Parkrun welcomed 146 participants this weekend with 17 of them being first timers.

This week is Barrow Parkrun’s eighth birthday which also coincides with Parkrun’s 15th anniversary. The run was dedicated to Gillian Thompson who was described as one of the pillars of Barrow Parkrun whose funeral took place last Wednesday.

Taking the lead for the males was Cameron Bell in 18.43, second was Aiden Moyles in 19.10 and third was Sean Roberts on 19.29.

Louise Tidbury took the first place spot in 23.14. She was followed by Karen Griffiths in 23.57, who was then followed by Laura Edwards in 24.00.

Ulverston’s Ford Parkrun saw some personal bests this week.

Sheldan Pickles crossed the finish line first in 20.38, a new personal best, behind him in second place was Stuart Allan on 22.28 and third place was not recorded.

First for the women was Nichola Copeland in 25.46. Following in the second place spot was Joanna Bailey in 26.19 and in third was Florrie Haddow in 26.58, also a new personal best.

Millom parkrunners were greeted by a more testing surface due to the adverse weather.

Many of the regular runners competed in events such as the Great Scottish 10k and the Barrow 50-mile Ultra.

First to cross the finish line for the men was Daniel King in 22.18, in second place was Sam Moore in 22.45 and in third was Dave Bridges in 25.23.

For the women Hannah Wright came first in 27.17, second was Beccy Jopson in 31.24 and taking the third place spot was Ellen Longhorn in 31.56.

Fell foot Parkrun saw some great running times this weekend.

Jamie Ford led the way for the men in 18.12, closely followed by Hamish Fletcher-Cooney in 18.14 and Daniel Jephcott in 18.58.

Candice Louise Heys was the first woman to finish in 20.53, followed by Abi Longhurst in 22.48 and Caroline Holmes in 23.01.
