A DALTON pub has been sold.

The Black Bull in Dalton's Tudor Square was due to go up for auction but was sold before the event.

It had been listed with Pugh Auctions with a guide price of £125,000.

The pub and hotel dates back to the 19th century when discoveries of iron ore brought hundreds of miners to Dalton and the town became renowned for its plentiful accommodation.

It neighbours another pub in Tudor Square, The Golden Ball, and has been closed for more than a year.
