A 23-YEAR-OLD Carlisle man has denied two charges of assault against two women.
Joshua Paul Loveday appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court yesterday.
He was charged with two counts of assault by beating, one against a three-year-old child and one against a 25-year-old woman.
He denied both charges when asked to enter a plea by the court. Both assaults are alleged to have taken place on April 15.
Loveday confirmed that he currently lives at Linden Terrace in the Harraby area of Carlisle.
His next appearance will be before Carlisle’s Earl Street crown court.
Addressing Loveday, District Judge Gerald Chalk said: “I am adjourning the matter until November 21st at crown court.”
The trial is scheduled for that date.
